Calle Mayor Middle School

Surrounded by its residential area, Calle Mayor is situated on a 12.5 acre plot of land. It neighbors South High School,which affords eighth graders the opportunity to take high school courses. CMMS houses 45 classrooms; including two full science labs, a marine biology lab, two full computer labs, a library, Life Management room, Technology/Shop room,  Music room, and Adventures in Art room. Most students come from two feeder elementary schools that are in walking distance. Our Library and Computer Labs have been completely re-configured and updated, as well as installing  SmartBoards and Document Camera’s in 95% of our classrooms. A 40-foot horizontal rock-climbing wall has been installed in our cafeteria and new lunch tables have been placed on the blacktop along north side of the field. School grounds are supervised by campus aides, security staff, noon-aides and staff members to maintain a safe and secure environment during school hours. Emergency drills are routinely held for sheltering-in-place, earthquake, and fire preparedness. The school site is clean and well maintained.

Richardson Middle School FKA Newton

Reopened in 1993, Richardson M.S. had six and one-half classrooms in operation the first year. Currently, there are 24 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classrooms, including one ELD classroom, and two Learning Center classrooms. Also, there are two computer laboratories (media technology center) with 40 computers in each, a life management classroom, technology education laboratory and two science classrooms with laboratories. All classrooms have internet capabilities. The cafeteria serves as a multipurpose assembly room. The Media Tech Center provides students with a quiet place to complete assignments or research topics both during the instructional day and after school. The center has computers available for students’ use and Internet access which allows students the opportunity to expand their research and technological skills. Richardson has a full-time librarian and continues to purchase reading books and software enabling students to improve reading, writing and research skills
